  • Product Details The Lightning Strike Football Indicators with Gasket help fly anglers track subtle takes and control drift more cleanly when nymphing for trout, steelhead, and other current-oriented fish in rivers and streams. Their football shape casts farther and floats with less drag than many traditional strike indicators, which helps keep your rig moving naturally through seams, runs, and pockets where fish feed. The hard foam body makes these indicators easy to put on, take off, and reposition when you need to change depth often, and the twist-on gasket system holds tightly to fine leaders without forcing you to remove your fly. Just place your leader in the groove, grip the leader and contrasting fluorescent gasket ends, and twist on or off for quick adjustments on the water. Hi-viz dual fluorescent colors improve visibility in changing light, and the adjustable, reusable design makes them a practical choice for anglers who stay mobile and fine-tune depth throughout the day. I found that it slides around a little bit and is hard to determine a strike from a bobble in the current (I got a size small and larger might work better). For me, it’s good to have handy, but not my first choice to use.
