Product Details The Avet MXJ MC G2 Lever Drag Conventional Reel gives saltwater anglers a compact, narrow-spool reel with the cranking control, casting performance, and corrosion resistance needed for live bait fishing, jigging, trolling, casting plugs, and bottom fishing for species like striped bass, salmon, lake trout, tuna, mahi, grouper, and snapper. Available with or without drag plate and in left- or right-hand retrieve models, the MXJ MC G2 pairs a precision-machined 6061 T-6 marine-grade aluminum frame with stainless steel components, stainless steel gears, and an anodized finish for added protection in harsh fishing environments. Its re-designed true one-piece frame improves strength-to-weight performance while helping keep the reel rigid under heavy drag pressure and long fights. The powerful lever drag system with adjustable strike pre-set gives anglers quick, repeatable drag adjustments during a fight, while reliable Avedrag dry carbon fiber drags provide smooth stopping power and long-term wear resistance. The Magic Cast adjustable magnetic anti-backlash cast control system uses Lenz Law to help prevent line overrun and birds nests during casting, giving anglers more control when throwing live bait rigs, irons, and plugs. Avets patented silent dog and gear anti-reverse system now features additional engagement teeth to reduce handle back-play and improve hook-setting control. A loud re-designed alarm clicker, offset machined handle arm that reduces cranking wobble, large soft-touch handle knob, and 8 ball bearings round out a reel that performs equally well in rod holders, at the rail, or casting structure and open water bait schools.
